TV Ratings for Week of March 31 - April 6
CBS and NCAA basketball dominate black household viewing

(April 9, 2008) CBS apparently gained lots of residual viewers from its airing of the NCAA Basketball Championships. The broadcast of the Final Four games on Saturday capped off a week in which the network dominated the top 25 list of most popular TV programs in black households. "American Idol" had to settle for the second and third place on the chart.

CBS' 13 shows on the list overwhelmed the competition. Fox claimed six of the top 25, while ABC had 4 shows.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 programs during the first week of April, according to Nielsen Media Research was 36.4 million. That's a drop two percent below the previous week.
