Sanders\Wingo named agency partner for cult favorite Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

(April 1, 2010) The Sanders\Wingo marketing agency today announced it has reached an agreement to serve as agency for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain. Initial duties will include brand development, strategic planning and franchise enablement.

"Sanders\Wingo's unique, fresh take on marketing and advertising felt like the perfect complement to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema brand," said Alamo President and CEO John Martin. "The team members are all longtime Alamo fanatics who really seem to understand our cult values and we believe they will be able to project this across our current, and new, markets. We are looking forward to a good partnership."

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is an American cinema chain founded in 1997 in Austin, Texas, United States. It has screens in eight locations across Texas. The chain currently maintains nine locations throughout Texas and Virginia, with future expansion plans throughout 2010 and 2011.

"Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has always been part of what's made Austin such an awesome and unique cultural locale," noted Sanders\Whingo Senior Vice President James Lanyon. "As the company grows its overall footprint across different markets, it will be our goal to maintain what made it a cult brand while engaging its new audiences."

In addition to lengthy experience with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema brand, Sanders\Wingo team members also bring significant experience from prior accounts in the film, entertainment, food service and beverage categories.
