Black TV Ratings for Week of March 21 - 27
Black households deliver big win to CBS for NCAA's Sweet 16, Elite 8

(March 30, 2011) After failing to draw a large enough prime time audience to have one NCAA Men's Basketball game among the Top 25 favorites, CBS did an about-face for the fourth "Sweet 16" round on the road to the Final Four. While there were only two games that made the week's favorites among white households, seven match-ups were on the Top 25 for black viewers.

ABC had a winner with lengthy list of black participants on "Dancing with the Stars" that beat out perennial No.1, "American Idol."

CBS easily took most watched network title, thanks to seven NCAA b-ball games that attracted 9.2 million black viewers. The network had total of 20.9 million black watchers for 15 of its shows. ABC and NBC were a distant second and third, with 7.5 million and 3.7 million respectively.

The total number of viewers tuning in the Top 25 shows, according to Nielsen, was 36.1 million, for an increase of 21 percent above the previous week's total.
