Black TV Ratings for Week of March 22 - 28
Black viewers make road to NCAA's Final Four a ratings winner for CBS

(March 30, 2010) Even as the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship wound down in the second round, CBS enjoyed sustained viewing from black households that made the games ratings winners for the network. Of the week's five prime time game nights, three placed in the top ten for African-American viewing [none of the games made the top ten in white households] and Saturday's broadcast finished No.3. Black viewers made up at least ten percent of the total audience for all of the games.

The premiere of the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars was the No.1 show with black audiences for the fourth week of March [it placed second in white household viewing]. It attracted 2.2 million black viewers.

Though the NCAA games disrupted CBS' regular line-up of popular shows on Tuesday and Friday nights, the network still attracted an above average total audience. With 18.9 million black viewers for 14 programs, CBS was far and away the most watched network of the week. Fox followed with 8.9 million for six shows. ABC claimed 4.7 million over three shows.

The total number of viewers tuning in the Top 25 most popular shows with black households for the week, as recorded by Nielsen, was 34.9 million, or eight percent more than the previous week.
