Captivate Marketing Group acquires Chicago rights to Real Men Cook event

(March 19, 2010) Chicago based, Captivate Marketing Group, has acquired the  license to assume production of Real Men Cook Chicago, the annual Father's day food tasting and family celebration that has been a staple in the community for the past 20 years. This year Real Men Cook will take place on June 20, 2010.

"As a father I understand the importance of this event," said Abe Thompson, Managing Principal for Captivate Marketing Group. CMG is a certified minority owned company that produces special events. Most recently the company handled production of the National Urban leagues opening reception in Chicago in 2009.

Real Men Cook was introduced in Chicago by Yvette Moyo's Resources Associates International in 1990. Over the past two decades it has grown to include as many as 20 cities, and has attracted millions of participants and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities. It also has long been a popular with marketers for its ability to connect them with African American families.

Under the newly reached agreement, Moyo will be a consultant to CMG and will continue to maintain ownership of the brand and its licensing agreements with other cities. Moyo also has control over the product line that carries the Real Men Cook name and the books it has published.

"We are excited to continue the long standing tradition of Real Men Cook," said Lisa Newman, chief development officer of CMG, "we're working with our committed sponsors that realize the value of fatherhood, fellowship and family at this annual community event.
