TV Ratings for Week of March 10 - 16
'Idol' does what it does and Oprah goes top five; Fox takes the week

(March 19, 2008) "American Idol" captured the No.1 and 2 spots on the listing of the 25 most popular shows with black households. Newbie, "Oprah's Big Give," moved into the top five, after being No. 6 last week.

The week was a strong one for Fox. Monday was the only night of the week that at least one of its primetime shows wasn't on the top 25 favorites. With nine programs on the list, Fox was the week's winning network. CBS and NBC followed with five each, while ABC and the CW both posted three.

The total number of black viewers for the top 25 during the second week in March, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 32.7 million. That is a 14 percent drop from the previous week's 38.3 million.
