TV Ratings for Week of March 8 - 14 The Good
Wife breaks up Idol's dominance of Top 25 black programs
(March
16, 2010) CBS had its best showing of the season with black audiences,
thanks to the growing popularity of The Good Wife. The legal drama
attracted nearly two million viewers and beat out two of the three
airings of American Idol. It captured the No.2 spot for the first time,
thanks to the airing of new episodes for the show. [The Good Wife
finished in 10th place among white households.]
CBS registered one of its best week's ever on the Top 25, with its
regular line-up drawing 16.9 million black viewers and the title of the
week's most watched network. Fox claimed 11.9 million viewers for its
eight shows on the chart. ABC had just 3.6 million for three programs.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular shows in
black households, according to Nielsen, was down 14 percent from the
previous week to 34.4 million.
