TV Ratings for Week of Feb. 25 - March 2
'Raisin' cast out shines 'Idol' as week's No.1 show; CBS takes top network

(March 4, 2008) ABC trumped the dominance of "American Idol" with the all-star cast of Lorraine Hansberry's "A Raisin in the Sun." The classic drama, featuring Sean Combs and Phylicia Rashad, attracted more than five million black viewers, almost twice the average "Idol" audience. Fox's juggernaut did capture the second through fourth spots on the chart.

CBS was the week's top network with black households, with eight shows on the top 25 list. Fox followed with seven, while ABC had five. NBC had fours shows, and the CW posted one.

The total number of black viewers for the top 25 shows during the last week of February, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 40.5 million -- a 9.5 percent increase over the previous week.
