promotes Ed Pearson to VP Urban post
(February 25, 2008) ABC Radio Networks promotes Ed Pearson to VP/Affiliate
Relations & Program Development-Urban; Bryan Switzer to VP/Affiliate
Relations-Music; and Elisa Torres to VP/Hispanic Programming & Operations.
Each will take on increased responsibilities in managing the day-to-day
operations of their respective divisions.
"Placing Ed, Bryan and Elisa in these key roles for their individual
business units is another important step in aligning our company for
continued success and growth in the network category," said ABC Radio
Networks President Jim Robinson. "Each brings a strong range of
credentials and talent that I'm pleased to have within our organization."
Pearson joined ABC Radio Networks in 1998 as Regional Director of
Affiliate Relations. He was previously with the sales division of ABC
Television and also worked for WPLJ-FM/New York. Pearson returned to ABC
Radio Networks in 2002 as Senior Director of Urban Radio Operations.
Switzer has been with the company since 2005 when he joined as Executive
Director of Affiliate Relations, following a 20-year career in the record
industry with both Atlantic Records and Universal South. In that span, he
led artist relations, sales, promotions and the signing of new talent for
the labels.
Torres joined ABC Radio Networks in 2004 as Senior Director of Hispanic
Affiliate Relations. She was previously with MasMusica TeVe Network (MTV
3) where she developed and implemented distribution strategies for
Spanish-language broadcast stations. She's also worked for Latino
Broadcasting Company where she managed affiliate sales and relationships
for 120 radio affiliates.
Pearson is based in the comapny's Dallas headquarters while Switzer is in
the company's Nashville office and Torres is in the Network's Miami
office.
