4BlackYouth.com
gives students a destination with comprehensive success tools
(February 24, 2010) Success4Youth, LLC has announced the launch of 4BlackYouth.com, an online social network and portal for African-American high school and college students. 4BlackYouth.com delivers information on scholarships, grants, internships and jobs; online tutoring; 2-way interaction with mentors; details about a broad range of careers; coverage of relevant health and actionable advice on academics and career success. "Many black high school graduates are entering college or the workforce, ill-equipped and set up for failure," says Reggie Dunlop, founder and CEO of 4BlackYouth.com. "In response, we have come up with a comprehensive ‘tools to success' solution that takes African American youth from the trailing edge to the leading edge in academic, career and entrepreneurial readiness." The heart of 4BlackYouth.com is formed by the career directory, the MentorConnect community, and a scholarship database. The Web site's career listing exposes students to 350 positions across a wide range of industries, and the scholarship database houses information on 275 programs. Dunlop also sees the site as a unique opportunity for marketers to become involved in the academic success of black students. In addition to digital ad units, sponsorships include monthly online tutoring scholarships to be awarded on behalf of the sponsor, extensive listings of internships and jobs on an interactive jobs board, and employee participation in the mentoring program. Brand activation at live events will be available to sponsors in the future. For further information about 4BlackYouth.com contact Reggie Dunlop at reggie@4blackyouth.com.
