Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of January 4 - 10
BET's Celebration of Gospel takes No.1 cable show with 2.5 million
viewers (January
13, 2010) The year got off to a very good start for BET. With Monday
Night Football done for the season, the usual No.1 cable show in black
households is no longer a certainty. BET's Celebration of Gospel easily
claimed the top spot on the chart with2.5 million viewers.
TBS still had it claim to fame as the most watched network in black
homes by posting 8.5 million viewers. BET was the second most popular
with 6.9 million watchers for six Top 25 shows. VH1 and ESPN tied for
third with 3.0 million each.
The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most watched cable programs
in black households, as cited by Nielsen data, was 27.7 million, seven
percent more than watched the previous week.
