Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Dec. 28 - Jan. 3
Cable's last week of the year produces a familiar Top 25 of favorite
shows (January
7, 2010) Through the final week of 2009, cable viewing in black
households remained steady, with viewers staying, for the most part,
with their usual Top 25 favorites. The few exceptions came from the
youngest members of the family, home for winter vacation, whose loyalty
to the Disney channel was apparent.
TBS continued its reign as the most watched cable network, posting 7.1
million viewers for five Tyler Perry-produced shows. USA came in second
with 4.5 million for five programs. Third place went to ESPN with 3.7
million for three football games, including the usual No.1 cable shows,
Monday Night Football.
The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable programs, as cited by
Nielsen, was 25.8 million -- virtually the same as the previous week.
